The stone has already been called so and legends or their reproductions published about it since the end of the 19th century, however, a more precise description of the stone is missing, it is only known that the stone is big. According to uncertain information, the stone, when straightening the Abava River, was blasted, other sources say, it is still whole and lies in the river near Irlava Secondary School. Interviews with Irlava village inhabitants showed that the people knew the stone and it was said to lie in the river right downstream the bridge opposite to Irlava Secondary School. At the moment of the inspection the Abava River had overflown after rain showers and the stone was said to be below the water level and was not visible. According to legends the Thunder God hid gold, silver and other fortune under the stone which had previously belonged to the Latvian people who had not known its true value. The stone lies about 100 m downstream from the Peņķi Health Spring.
In the middle of the river, well visible from the banks or the bridge if the water level is not too high
