Description
The Krākas or Holy Spring with the nearby remains of a cult site is one of the most famous cultural historical objects of the Krustkalni Nature Reserve, Natura2000. At present it is also available for sightseeing upon prior agreement with the administration of the Reserve. Association with cult objects is related to tales about Witches (in Krustkalni several place names are associated with the Devil or Witch); since time immemorial people came to the spring for water, although no specific healing properties have been attributed to it in folklore. A geologically unique object, the most impressive freshwater limestone (spring limestone) deposits. State protected geological and nature object. Other nearby objects: Krustkalni Nature Reserve.
